Shoreline Farmers Market has been a staple of the Shoreline community and is proud to be celebrating its 11th year. The market is an excellent opportunity for you to promote your business while supporting your local community. On Saturdays during the farmers market season, we host over 40 unique vendors, offer educational & fun kids programming, games, live music, and more. Sponsorships include promotional booth space for an opportunity to connect with the community and share information about your business, as well as your commitment to the community.
As a small organization we rely on the support of community sponsors to fund our staff and support our programs. Your sponsorship will directly support the Shoreline Farmers Market and will ensure our continued success and ability to provide not only a vibrant community gathering space but a place to support the local economy and provide locally grown and healthy foods to your neighbors.
Your sponsorship will support our popular market programs:
Kids Programming- The Power of Produce (PoP) program serves over 1,000 kids each season. PoP is a multifaceted program that gives $2 in market currency to youth that can be used to purchase fruits and vegetables at the market. The program is designed to encourage healthy food choices and teach kids the value of a monetary transaction. Additionally, kids can engage in educational activities that promote the ethos of PoP. In 2020 the PoP Program pivoted online; SFM created fun and education videos for kids to stay engaged with the farmers markets while staying home and staying safe. We’re excited to be back in full swing this year!
Supplemental Nutrition Access Program (SNAP) Matching Program- In Washington State, 1 in 7 people rely on the SNAP program to supplement their food purchases and half of these beneficiaries are children. SNAP is essential to our communities and the SNAP Market Match Program makes shopping at a farmers market more accessible. The SNAP Market Match matches, dollar for dollar, all SNAP and EBT transactions made at participating farmers markets, meaning a $20 withdrawn from the account is matched with an additional $20 that can be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables only.
Musical Performances- The live music offered at the Shoreline Farmers Market is one of the key elements that sets us apart from neighboring markets. SFM hosts 40 musical performances totaling over 80 hours of music to delight our customers. At SFM the musicians are given a stipend in the form of “market bucks” allowing them to shop at the market and support the market vendors. Music brings people together, reinforces the sense of community, and brightens the space allowing customers to settle in and enjoy the market longer.
Senior Home Delivery- Access to fresh and local food is a right, not a privilege. Partnering with local organizations and dedicated volunteers, we purchase food from our farmers directly and create grocery bags to supplement and provide nutritious food. These bags are filled with fresh fruits and vegetables, healthy recipes, nutrition information, and more. Each season, we hand deliver over 300 grocery bags to seniors in Shoreline.
