The Shoreline Farmers Market is committed to creating a safe, sanitary, and healthy outdoor shopping experience for the Shoreline Community as we navigate COVID-19. We are, and will continue, to work closely with the WA State Health Department and the Seattle & King County Public Health Department to develop market plans that prioritize customer safety.
What does a modified market look like and what can I expect?
- Designated entrance and exit
- A limited number of shoppers will be allowed to enter at a time
- Increased spacing between vendor booths to comply with physical distancing and safety measures
- Physical distancing required while shopping
- Face coverings are required by order of King County Department of Health
- Touchless payments and pre-orders are encouraged
- Hand sanitation stations will be available for customer use
- Chef Tasting, Live music, kids PoP Program, and eating areas are suspended until further notice (subject to change for the 2021 season)
- Our website, e-newsletter, and social media channels will list vendors and products available at each market
- We ask that you please be patient while we navigate this new modified version of our beloved farmers market
- We WILL CONTINUE TO ACCEPT WIC/EBT/SNAP and SNAP Market Match doubling your EBT dollars!
- We will have: beautiful flowers, fresh made cheese, local organic meat and eggs, the freshest fruits and vegetables, so many berries, appreciative vendors, helpful staff, and warm smiles
Understanding the COVID market rules:
- Stay home if you are (or think you are) sick
- Stay home if you have (or think you have) been in contact with someone who is sick
- Please leave your pets at home if possible
- Designate one shopper per household to go to market - whenever possible leave children at home
- Make a shopping list so you can shop quickly
- Bring reusable bags – these are permitted, but you will be the only person touching them
- Look down for markings on the ground to guide you around the market
- Do not touch the products, our vendors will help you
- Maintain 6 feet of space around you at all times
- You are required to wear a face covering
- Consumption of food or drink inside the market is prohibited
Staff and vendors are here to keep you safe:
- All vendors will separate cash and product handling, and ensure regular and proper handwashing
- All vendors will select and serve your produce and products
- Vendors and staff will politely ask you to keep moving so we can serve as many shoppers as possible
- Vendors and Staff will limit the number of shoppers in front of booths at any given time
- Surfaces and ‘high touch’ items such as tables, POS terminals, cash boxes, etc. will be sanitized regularly
- Market staff will be assigned to conduct regular and ongoing checks for handwashing stations, proper bleach solutions, and sanitizing supplies in addition to our regular food safety controls
It is essential that we come together as a community to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
We thank you in advance your your patience and support.
